AS BUILDER:

Huntley House

Historic Farm House

I did my first design in 1978 as part of JB Hammer Company Inc.  As the co-founder of the company, I was privileged to produce needed drawings because of an educational background in drafting.  As the owner and later, President, it was also my job to construct the projects. The construction end of the business was active for 25 years and had a perfect record with the Construction Contractors Board (#74416). I was the first remodeler to be "certified" in Clackamas Co. by National Association of the Remodeling Industry.  JB Hammer Company was involved in everything from new construction to remodeling to historic restoration.  I produced the designs and drawings for approximately 30% of these projects, which included new homes and additions.

In 1999 I made the transition from builder/designer to designer, and as JB Hammer Designs I am now engaged in fulltime design work.  The skills that I bring to the design field were acquired from my twenty five years in residential construction and design, historic restoration, and yearly continuing education in building codes, engineering and architecture.  I am an appointed member of the Historic Review Board for Clackamas County Oregon and the City of West Linn, Oregon. I am also on the Design Review Board for the City of Happy Valley.
